Learning is a part of growing up process and as long as we learn we grow. With technology increasingly globalizing our lives, we had to realize globalization is not a threat but opportunity. An opportunity that can be turned to financial revenue if & when we are equipped with adequate knowledge how can we generate a revenue stream out of the culture we are interested to be a part of.
Many American students or Americans for that matter are increasingly interested in foreign culture such as European, Asian, African etc. but with little to no idea on how the immigration, & labor laws, business laws, policing etc. work for an American in a foreign country and if they will be able to generate economic revenue for themselves as a foreigner. Even if they do, will they be conveniently able to transfer the funds back & forth between the United States and the foreign entity.
There is nothing wrong in learning a foreign language, cultural norms of a new country etc. but it is equally or even more important to understand the laws and regulations of the foreign entity and how it works for Americans abroad. Law is culture and it empowers individuals to prosper and avoid getting in to troubles simply out of ignorance.
